I met a Handyman the other day… it was a Sunday afternoon at the beach, and we were getting into our cars… well he was getting into his handyman truck.  I was talking to him about what brought him to Florida and how I am starting this company (Best Property Holdings llc.) where we buy low income housing, renovate, and rent… So we were talking.  Eventually he came around that he said he was going to need a lottery ticket to retire… He’s a guy in his fifties and he is running out of time and ‘health’ to live a comfortable retirement.

What would you do?  Can you say “Joe, let me tell ya.  You just told me What your doing isn’t enough.  You know the facts, your running out of time to make money.  Did you know that every challenge ever faced, has had a hero overcome it?  Do you realize that your situation isn’t really uncommon?  And because its so common, there are so many solutions its flabbergasting.

You’ve been a handyman for 10-20 years.  Lets capitalize on your success.  You already have a relationship with a number of people you’ve done business with…  Ask them how their doing. If you can still use them a referral for your work, ask for more business. And then tell them your story, about this new business you’re starting par-time and how instead of wondering when I’m going to get this winning lottery ticket to retire, I’m trying to create my own luck…

They say that Opportunity is the best charity.  If that is true, then this other quote is debunked, “how can you help the poor by being one of them?”  Ah, maybe you are rich with opportunity.  Remember that law about Abundance, whatever you think about grows?  So if you develop a habit of looking for, and following up after, Opportunity… then you’ll become abundant with opportunity.  You cannot give away what you don’t have.  But you don’t have to buy opportunity.  You don’t have to borrow opportunity.  You don’t have to Ask, or be GIVEN opportunity.  You can Create Opportunity yourself!  That is the winning lottery ticket. 

People are in the market for healthy products that help them live longer.

It’s a growing industry.

Sometime we just need a little help, seeing the opportunity.

Here is today’s thought experiment to illustrate not just the power of team work, BUT THE NECCESITY OF TEAM WORK.

Suppose you found yourself starting a new bottled water company where all the profits would go to environmental non-profits promoting clean water?

I think I’d start by recruiting a team of three people, an accountant, a marketing guy, and an engineer. 

I don’t know how the Three guys at Keeper Springs did it, but they have donated $500,000 of profit…

Now suppose you were assigned to start a new business where your job description is the same as a corporate middle manager?

An independent, disciplined, motivated, business oriented, educated individual with great communication skills whose responsibility is to recruit, train, and track progress.

Are you qualified to run this business? 

Of course you are, create your team to overcome your weaknesses and develop your skills.  People pay big dollars going college to develop their skills.

Now suppose you know that you are uncertain of your job security, you aren’t making enough money, and your not saving enough for your future goals.

What do you do?
